Mangalore, Jul 12: The coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have an indispensable bond with Mumbai.  Lacs of people from these districts are either working, living in Mumbai.  Now that the financial capital of the country has been rocked by serial bomb blasts on Tuesday July 11 evening, people in these districts are anxious to know about their relatives and friends in Mumbai.

On the other hand, the police have beefed up the security in the districts.  Since Udupi and DK have trade links with Mumbai through air, train, sea and road transport, the police are keeping a vigilant eye on the security system, said Western Range IGP H N Satyanarayana Rao.

A special attention has been given towards all the buses, trains and aeroplanes plying between the commercial city and the coastal districts.  The police have also been issued order to check any vehicle and persons who give rise to any suspicion, said he.

Meanwhile some Hindu organizations will hold a rasta roko at Hampankatta here on Wednesday July 12 evening at 4 in protest against the bomb blasts in Mumbai.
