Amit Sadh turns 31, spends birthday shooting

New Delhi, June 5 (IANS): The transition from the small screen to the big screen has been fruitful for only a few, and Amit Sadh happens to be one of them. The actor, who turned 31 Thursday, spent his day shooting for “Guddu Rangeela” and hopes the new year keeps him busy with quality work.

On his special day, he had a 5 a.m. call for shoot, and he believes “it’s a great gift” to be able to have the kind of work that’s coming his way.

“It’s been a great year for me...working with wonderful filmmakers and actors. There’s been so much of learning and I just like to work hard,” Amit told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

He’s caught in the midst of shooting for “Guddu Rangeela” and promoting his forthcoming film “RunningShaadi.com”. Both films are as different as chalk and cheese.

“All my roles have been different,” says the actor, who made his Bollywood debut with the acclaimed 2013 film “Kai Po Che”, in which he played Omi Shastri.

In “Guddu Rangeela”, Amit essays a Haryanvi character against his “young guy in a sweet love story” in “RunningShaadi.com”, in which he stars opposite Taapsee Pannu.

Amit, who was injured while shooting for “Guddu Rangeela” in Shimla in mid-March is now also back on his feet, and he says his recovery period gave him a chance to chill, sit at home, read books, catch up on movies and with his friends.

Now, he’s hoping to finish the shooting for the Subhash Kapoor-directorial, which he will wrap up in 10 to 15 days.
