Temperatures soar across Himachal


Shimla, June 6 (IANS): The hills of Himachal Pradesh continued to sizzle Friday with Shimla recording a maximum temperature of 30.7 degrees Celsius, a whopping six notches above the season's average.

"Temperatures across the state rose abnormally, remaining above average by two to seven degrees Celsius," an official of the Met Office here told IANS.

According to him, Una town was the hottest place in the hill state with the maximum temperature touching 44.4 degrees Celsius.

Likewise, Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a maximum of 39.8 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar in Kullu district touched 36.5 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala in Kangra district was 35.4 degrees Celsius, and Kalpa in Kinnaur district marked a high of 26.4 degrees Celsius.

Picturesque tourist resort of Manali also recorded a high of 27.2 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has forecast dry weather across the state till Sunday.
