Panel on captive coal supply for steel, cement to meet June 11

New Delhi, June 6 (IANS): The inter-ministerial committee on coal supply to end-use plants in the steel and cement sectors will meet here June 11.

A panel comprising the coal, environment, finance, steel and law ministries under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary (Coal) A.K. Dubey, was constituted in March last year to look into issues relating to fuel supplies to end-use plants linked to coal blocks that were de-allocated, or which could not be developed.

The committee had recommended that the quantum of fuel to end-use plants, which were initially allocated such captive coal blocks, may be assured after taking the opinion of state miner Coal India and the Central Electricity Authority.
