AAP falling prey to personality cult: Yogendra Yadav

New Delhi, Jun 6 (PTI): Differences within the top leaders of the AAP came to the fore as senior leader Yogendra Yadav has charged the party with falling "prey to personality cult" and that decisions taken reflected the wishes of party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

"There is a widespread perception among the workers and sympathisers as well as external observers that the party is falling prey to the disease of personality cult that afflicts all the political parties in the country," Yadav said in a letter to party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC), from which he resigned last week after his spat with Haryana convener Naveen Jaihind.

The letter was also written, explaining the reasons on why he quit from the party's all powerful PAC.

"Major decisions of the party appear to, and indeed do, reflect the wishes of one person; when he changes his mind, the party changes its course of action; proximity to the Leader comes to substitute for organisational roles and responsibilities.

"Since all the decisions and successes are credited to one person, all the blame also begins to accumulate at the doors of one person," Yadav said.

The AAP leader, who is known to be a key party strategist, also termed Kejriwal as "supremo" and that the love and affection for him were damaging the party.

"There is no one who doubts that Arvind bhai is the undisputed leader within the party. He has richly earned this stature and we would not be where we are without his leadership.

"But there is a difference between a Leader and a Supremo. Love and affection for a leader often turns into a personality cult that can damage an organisation and the leader himself. This is what appears to be happening to our party," Yadav said.

Interestingly, senior party leader and Kejriwal's close aide Manish Sisodia shot a letter in response to Yadav's letter accusing him of targeting the party chief and making internal matters public.

"When you wanted to become Haryana in-charge and wanted to be projected as the CM candidate despite opposition from other PAC members, Arvind backed you. At that time he was democratic (for you). The state of affairs of the party in Haryana is in a shambles," Sisodia said.

    Election commission shouldn't allow
"AAM admi" word to any political party.and supreme court should order Kejriwal to name his party as "aam kejri party" because all the political parties are here to serve for "aam aadmi" of india...& kejriwal is not demi god of aam aadmi to claim aam aadmi party...

This shows how " Too many cooks spoil the broth".Everyone in AAP were highly qualified .They were bureaucrats, professors etc etc. But each one had his own idea of democracy and they could not keep together. Each interpreted the concept of "Aaam Adami" and law his own way and became AAP also started playing for the crowds and fell prey to their own idiosyncrasies. Does this mean that the type of "High Command" system of politics is only the solution ?. The "high command" gags the members and also throws out who does not fall in line. Same thing in business. AAP wanted to become a party with difference but failed miserably. A good start but a bad end. Should we say "RIP AAP " ?

People were looking for a an alternative political party for Congress and BJP who let them down alternatively every five years. Delhi people gave AAP the first opportunity but by resigning AK made a big mistake. Now Modi has come and if he works for Aam Admi and alleviate their problems then AAP will be forgotten by the public. If Modi brings in communal element or does not deliver as promised on development agenda then AK has a chance after five years. Till then AAP must do a watch man's job based on issues of injustice and raise them time to time effectively with out seeking media attention but of Aam Admi.

Honest people always have ego problems whereas Corrupt people are highly amenable and adjustable. So corrupt people flock together while honest people break apart.
This is a proven human psychology since historical time.

Yogendra Yadav alone is a sensible man in AAP .He has been a Member of UGC for several years was likely to become Chairman of UGC has sacrificed everything and has come to AAP.He also was a Social Scientist associated with Television networks .If his words are not cared for AAP will dicline .Yadavs only problem is he doesnt like people who criticize him .A party to prosper people have to sacrifice Ego and that is not seen in AAP .

I am arranging a party for her soon to cheer her up.Langools what do 'spirits' cost in U.S.?Can you suggest names of some spirit lifters? By the way Jossey Sir may be needing 'barrels' of them for the next 5 years at least from the look of things! He's having a 'Feku' hangover already ..Think it comes from gulping 'duplicates'?
Bejai Mai is a dear and I think I can convince her....She is very rich too by the way.
