Mumbai, June 7: Summan R Agrawal, secretary, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress, visited Deepmala Sonawane who was beaten up by a passenger in the Kalyan Dombivli bus.

After talking to the civil surgeon of Central Hospital, Ulhasnagar, Dr Arun Virdhe, she was requested by Summan Agrawal to be shifted to the ICU for better treatment. Summan also talked to the senior police inspector Milind Patil, who is handling this case, regarding the safety of women.


The visit by 30-35 congress party workers, boosted the confidence of Deepmala and she will re-join her duty after getting well; otherwise this incident had left her in a very depressed state and she had decided to leave the job.

Dr Jairam Lulla, Kuldip Alsinghani, Haresh Bodha, Dr Azad, Faimida, Bharti and many other like minded people joined to visit the victim and encouraged her.
