Baraguru Ramachandrappa unveils 'Mumbai Kannada Rangabhoomi'

Mumbai, Jun 8: Renowned litterateur and critic Nadoja professor Baraguru Ramachandrappa unveiled the research publication 'Mumbai Kannada Rangabhoomi' written by Bharth Kumar Polipu at Dr M Visvesvaraya hall here on Saturday June 7. 

Dr Bharth Kumar is a well-known theatre expert and the vice-president of Karnataka association, Mumbai.


The programme was organized by the Kannada department of Mumbai University in consortium with Karnataka association.
 
Addressing the gathering Baraguru said, "Even though the book is named Mumbai Kannada Rangabhoomi, it details the information on drama pertaining to the country as a whole. The reach of the research is very vast.I am proud that the book has crossed the language hurdles in the arena of the theatre."

He said that he learnt several aspects of Mumbai theatre after reading the book.

"The study on the commercialization of the theatre is the subject of interest in the book. The book has comprehensively documented the research conducted on the theatre," he lauded.  

Dr Eshwar, the editor of Akshaya Masika, delivered the introductory speech on the book. 

Polipu recalled the help he received while publishing the book. 

President of Karnataka Sangha Prakash G Burde presided over the programme.

G N Upadhya, the HOD of Kannada, Mumbai University, Chandrakanth, Srinivas Jokatte and others were present.
