Mangalore, Jun 14: At last the much discussed Akshata murder case of Puttur has been handed over to District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police led by inspector Tilakchandra.

As reported earlier, Akshata, resident of Tarigudde near Puttur had gone missing from June 24 afternoon.  However she was found dead near in a nearby place on June 28 evening.  It was almost sure that she had been murdered.

Akshata's neighbour Sattar who had been love with her too had gone missing from the same day.  Once Akshata's body was found, it was suspected that Sattar had murdered her.  However, despite efforts by the Puttur police, Sattar has been nabbed till date.

Local Hindu organization led by Sri Ram Sene had held Puttur bundh on July 10 and two days later a huge protest rally too was organized in Puttur demanding the immediate arrest of Sattar.  During the rally, MLA Shakuntala Shetty had demanded district SP to hand over the case to DCIB police led by Tilakchandra who in the last one year had solved many difficult murder cases including sensation triple murder of Kadeshvalya.

Now the district police have decided to hand over the case to DCIB.  Only time would tell the benefit of it.
