Mysore, July 14: Hardly a day after Star of Mysore rightly suspected the presence of terrorist elements in city, the Mumbai Police rushed to Mysore on a tip off and reportedly arrested a suspect yesterday.

Based on a complaint lodged by a Mysore-based lady with the Police here, a team of Mumbai Police arrived in city yesterday and after a search, took into their custody one person from Subhashnagar in N.R. Mohalla, it is learnt. He has been taken to Mumbai for further interrogation, according to Police sources.

It is said that the city-based lady, while travelling from Bangalore to Mysore five days ago, overheard two youths seated in front of her, talking about planning serial blasts in Mumbai, Mysore, Madurai and Chennai cities, over their mobile phones.

On reaching Mysore, she lodged a complaint with the N.R. Police in this regard. Based on this complaint, two teams from Mumbai's Anti-Terrorism Squad arrived in Bangalore, of which one reached Mysore and visited the lady's residence. They were told by the family members that the lady had gone to Mumbai.

The cops from Mumbai then visited N.R. Mohalla Police Station and explained the purpose of their Mysore visit.

Inspector A.K. Suresh reportedly confirmed the lady's complaint about the serial blasts.

It is reported that a few top Police Officers of Mysore in mufti went along with the Mumbai cops for further investigation. They visited the houses of some suspects, arrested one person and sent him with the Mumbai Police for further interrogation.

The Mumbai and Hyderabad Police Offiers' special team, on a tip off that the terrorists had sneaked into Karnataka after the Mumbai blasts, launched their operation first in Gulbarga.

However, suspecting that the terrorists could be holed up in the coastal region, a State-wide search has been launched.

Following the lady's complaint and the arrival of the Mumbai Police, the City Police Commissioner's office was abuzz with hectic activity throughout the day.

Almost all the cops of the city had gathered in Subhashnagar and the search operation went on throughout the night yesterday.

A team of four

Intelligence sources here on Friday July 14, confirmed to Star of Mysore about the visit of a team of four Mumbai Policemen to the city yesterday.

The sources claimed that they came in a Tempo Trax accompanied by an Inspector of Bangalore City Crime Branch.

The team visited many residential layouts along with DCP K.T. Balakrishna and N.R. Police Station Inspector A.K. Suresh, according to the sources.

It is said that the Mumbai Police suspected that the person from Mysore lodged in Coimbatore jail in connection with Coimbatore blasts masterminded the Mumbai blasts from inside the jail itself.
