Afghan university professors kidnapped


Kabul, June 10 (IANS): Gunmen Tuesday abducted 35 Afghan university teachers travelling to Kabul and set their bus on fire in eastern Ghazni province, an official said.

"Gunmen stopped a bus carrying university teachers from southern Kandahar province to capital Kabul. They set the bus on fire and took the professors to an unknown location," the official told Xinhua.

He said the incident took place along Kandahar-Kabul highway in Mullana Baba area of the restive Qara Bagh district, in the southwest of provincial capital Ghazni city, 120 km south of Kabul.
