Iranian president vows to do best for n-deal


Ankara, June 11 (IANS): Iran would try to secure a deal in negotiations in Geneva on the country's nuclear programme, visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tuesday.

"Iran will do its best for a final deal with the P5 1 group," Xinhua quoted Rouhani as saying in the capital of Ankara, noting that Iran pursued merely "peaceful nuclear energy".

The P5 1 group include the five permanent UN Security Council members Britain, China, France, Russia and the US, plus Germany.

His remarks came on the second day of talks between Iran and the US in Geneva on Iran's nuclear programme.
