Mangalore, Jul 16: At the 32nd Mens and 24 Women's State Senior Power lifting Championship 2006 held here at Town Hall Hanumant of Davangere Municipal Sports Club created a new record. In the 100 kg category, Hanumant broke his earlier record of lifting 305 kgs. He lifted 305.5 kgs to create a new record.

On the second day of the championship Tippu Sultan of KGF won the first, C Suresh of Shimoga won second and Tulusidas of Mangalore won third place in the 75-kg category.


Razvi Khan of Municipal Sports Club, Davanagere won first place in under 60-kg category. Lakshman of Balanjaneya Gymnasium Mangalore and Santhosh Ullal of Shakthi Bharathi Vyayama Shala won the second place and third respectively.


Idinabba of Balanjaneya Gym, Mangalore won the first place in the 52-kg category. Harish of Sri Durga Gym, Mangalore and Venu Adi of Balanjaneya Gym were second and third respectively.

Pratap of Municipal Sports Club, Davanagere won the first place in the under-56 kg category.
