After weeklong incessant rains that lashed the coastal region, Dakshina Kannada had a respite on Sunday, Jul 17.
 
The rain abated and people heaved a sigh of relief. The weeklong rain had brought untold misery to the people. There very thousands who were affected by the rains. Reports kept pouring in on rain damage to house, property and several lives.

The City witnessed drizzle and was even light showers on Sunday.

Bantwal received 32.4 mm rain, Beltangady 25.2mm, Puttur 30.8mm, Sullia 28.2 mm, Uppinangady 69.2 mm and Bajpe airport 24.4 mm.
