30 killed in market blast in Syria


Damascus, June 14 (IANS): At least 30 people were killed Saturday when militants blew up a market in Syria, a media report said.

The militant group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), targeted a marketplace in the rebel-held al-Mayadeen city in Deir al-Zour province, Xinhua reported.

Violent clashes are taking place in the province between rebel groups namely the ISIL and the Al Qaeda linked Nusra Front.

Both rebel groups are fighting for the province, where most of the Syrian oil plants are located.
