CBI is overburdened, says minister


New Delhi, June 14 (IANS): Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Jitendra Singh, Saturday said that the CBI is overburdened due to work and backlog of cases.

"The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) is facing a number of problems, including its infrastructure, which will be taken up one by one," Singh told media while visiting the CBI headquarters here.

He said it was a formal meeting with the CBI officials during which many issues were discussed.

The minister was briefed by the officials about vacant posts, delayed infrastructure projects and financial liabilities of the CBI.
