BJP MP Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti attacked, escapes unhurt

Fatehpur, Jun 15 (PTI): An attempt was made on the life of newly-elected BJP MP Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti allegedly by three persons but she managed to escape unhurt, police said here today.

The incident occurred last night as the MP was returning from a function at Avas Vikas colony, police added.

In her complaint, Niranjan Jyoti has said that while she was returning from the ceremony, one Bhanu Patel along with his three aides attacked her and opened fire.

The MP said that her gunman Rahul Tiwari sustained serious injuries in the scuffle with the attackers.

While the other attackers were chased away by locals, Bhanu Patel has been arrested by police.

Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Singh said that the attack was executed in a pre-planned manner over an old rivalry. He added that raids were being conducted to nab the other attackers.

    i am not supportinh any wrong doing. but a few people including you always comment based on the " name" of the person involved in news. came out of biased comments. if you don't realize, i cant help.

    just see what is happening in other "disturbed nations". just for vote bank people are politicizing the issues & we blindly believe them. who ever it may be church attackers has to be punished, but the timing of attacks & the way it was implemented - i strongly feel that it was anti BJP who did that to spoil BJP. similarly i condemn people like muthalik, togadia,etc. i am not biased. i feel that appeasement of people based on community , for vote bank will destroy the nation.

    wait for 3 years, entire tamilnadu will go for bankrupt because of freebies. do you want Karnataka also want to go for bankrupt? nobody is working , everybody is getting everything for free.

    and see yesterday siddaramayya appointed CM IBRAHIM for planning commission, what planning he will do? is it not a shame to have him? is not insult to havr george as home minister?

    i also condemn the smrithi irani as central HRD & useless uma bharathi as waterv resource minister.

    i wanted to tell let us not biased.

    Dinesh, you are right, there should not be any politics on others death. Can we know how many times you have condemned the brutal killing, burning, raping and looting in Gujrat since 2002. Still no one is held responsible for the Akshamdham attack. But the attack took place in which scores of devotees were killed. Are we incapable of finding the criminals, OR we are not interested to find out who carried out the attack ???????
