Humid Monday morning in Delhi


New Delhi, June 16 (IANS): Delhiites woke up to a warm and humid Monday morning with the minimum temperature settled at 30.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a cloudy day ahead with light rain and thunderstorms.

Monday's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 40 degrees Celsius.

"The sky will be partly cloudy and light rain and thunderstorms are expected in the day," said an official of India Meteorological Department.

Delhi has witnessed extreme heat wave conditions earlier this month as the mercury touched a 62-year-high of 47.8 degrees Celsius June 8.

Sunday's minimum temperature settled at 28 degrees Celsius average for this time of the season and the maximum temperature recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average.
