Petrol pump cashier looted of Rs.9 lakh in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, June 16 (IANS): A cashier of a petrol vend here was Monday looted of over Rs.9 lakh at gunpoint during the day, police said.

The cashier of Indian Oil petrol pump here on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway was looted by four men riding motorcycles. 

"The cashier of the pump near Hero Honda chowk was on his way to the bank near Sector 10 to deposit nearly Rs.9.25 lakh in cash. He was intercepted by four men on two bikes, and the bag with the cash was robbed at gunpoint," a senior police officer told IANS.

The heist happened on a crowded road around 11 a.m. The pump is located on way from Jaipur to Delhi.

"A case has been registered and we are investigating it further," the officer said.
