Egypt's new government sworn in


Cairo, June 17 (IANS): Egypt's new cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, was sworn in Tuesday.

Mahlab, had served for five months as interim prime minister, Xinhua reported.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presidential palace here.

The new cabinet has 34 ministers, with just four women.

It included new Investment Minister Ashraf Salman and former ambassador to Washington Sameh Shukri, who was named the foreign minister.
