'Happy New Year' satellite rights sold for Rs 65 crores

Mumbai, June 20: Farah Khan directed 'Happy New Year' has broken all satellite records. According to reports, Zee TV has bagged the satellite rights of 'Happy New Year' for a whopping Rs 65 crores.

This is the highest amount paid for any movie by a channel. 'Kick' was purchased by Star for Rs 50 crores a year back. This was the highest amount paid for a movie for the satellite rights. But with Rs 65 crores coming into it's kitty, 'Happy new Year' has broken the record.

'Happy New Year' stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani. The movie is produced under the banner of Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Productions. The movie is slated to release on October 23 this year.
