Portugal are more dangerous now: Klinsmann

Sao Paulo, June 22 (IANS/EFE): United States' German head coach Jurgen Klinsmann believes that Portugal are now more dangerous after their 0-4 loss to Germany in the opening game of Group G of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The US are set to face Portugal in the third round of the group stage later Sunday. Portugal are one of the strongest European teams, Klinsmann added, noting that the first loss will empower them, reports Xinhua.

The 49-year-old coach noted that his team has to exert more effort to win the match. Germany top Group G with four points after sharing a 2-2 draw with Ghana Saturday, followed by the US, who are on four points.

Ghana are third with one point leaving Portugal in the bottom place with zero.
