Now, Tamil Nadu will have Amma Pharmacies

Chennai, June 26 (DHNS): Following the success of Amma canteens, water and salt, the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government in Tamil Nadu would open Amma Pharmacies from Thursday to provide medicines at subsidised prices.

In the first phase, ten Amma Pharmacies will be opened in seven districts. Chief Minister Jayalalitha would inaugurate them through video conferencing from the state Secretariat.

Official sources said Amma Pharmacies would be opened across the state in a phased manner, the same way Amma canteens have been opened and operated.

The government now ventures into selling medicines following the good reception for Amma Canteens, mineral water and salt among people.

    Shankar,
Agreed! Shadi Bhagya, Waiver of loans etc. Rice for Rs.1/-kg etc. are big blunder of Congress. They paid price for the blunder.
Reservations and concessions should always be reasonable, not detrimental to progress and based ONLY ON ECONOMIC CRITERIA!
But you should also have courage to say wherever BJP went wrong!

Mr. D'Souza, Who said i dont critisize BJP?
Last assembly elections i voted for Mr. Lobo thinking that Bhat is not doing enough and a former beurocrat will be a better option. See what happened. Lobo turns out be a good for nothing MLA. I regret and repent for my decision though my single vote did not do the effect.
But Sidramayyas shows his culture in every single programme he unveils! So i condemn evrything he does!!

Surely Amma canteens, water, salt and Pharmacies are FAR BETTER PROMISES OF ACCHE DIN than collecting money and material for Statue of Unity.
Promise of Acchhe Din and increasing cost of Railfare and all other essential goods and services.
When Namo opposed UPA's cost inflation and promised acche din, people expected that prices of essential commodities will go down.
Jayalalitha is genuinely doing what she promised!
About her stand on Hindi / English row is also clear.
It is only matter of time, people are exposed, hidden is revealed, we get to see who is who!

Smt Jayalalitha has truly emerged a saviour of the poor & downtrodden classes. Her initiatives such as Amma canteen where one plate idli sambhar (3 nos idlis) at Rs 5/- & minral water at Rs 10/- are creditable achievements. I am sure the medical shop concept too will click in TN!

Other state govts should learn from her. BTW, the 2016 Assembly looks a no contest due to Amma's aggresiveness!!
