Man killed for feeding stray dogs in Bengal


Kolkata, June 26 (IANS): A man's love for stray dogs proved fatal for him when he was battered to death by his neighbour for feeding the animals in West Bengal's Howrah district.

According to police, the incident happened Wednesday under Shibpur police station when Baneshwar Shaw was beaten to death by his neighbour following an altercation over his daily habit of feeding stray dogs.

"According to the complaint, Sambhu Bagh got irritated by the barking of dogs whom Shaw was feeding. A heated altercation ensued leading to Bagh attacking Shaw with an iron rod killing him on the spot," a police officer said.

Bagh is on the run following the incident.
