Margao, Jul 26: Margao-based journalists will be provided with the facility of a new ‘Press Room’ in the premises of Margao Municipal council (MMC) shortly.
Over the last one-and-a-half year the room had remained unused, as the municipal staff had stored goods in the erstwhile press room at the time of the renovation of the building.
At a special meeting held in MMC on Tuesday, journalists stressed the need for a new press room before the death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak, Taking cognizance of this, the council gave its nod to give a spacious room for the mediapersons.
MMC chairperson Rajendra Azgaonkar told the Margao journalists that the said room would be vacated by Thursday and the room would be ready for the journalist community to observe the Lokmanya Tilak death anniversary on August 1 and carry on their work therein henceforth.
