'Promiscuous' wife booked for husband's suicide

Gurgaon, June 27 (IANS): A woman and two others were booked for abetting the suicide of her husband who accused her of illicit relations, police said Friday.

Rajkumar, 38, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his rented house in the Om Nagar area here.

"He was living with his wife Poonam and daughter for the past two years," a senior police officer told IANS.

"The couple usually fought as Rajkumar suspected his wife of having extra-marital affairs with landlord Ravi Kumar and a neighbour Gattu," he said.

The victim was out of his house for the past two days and returned Thursday night.

He locked and hanged himself in the room while blaming the trio for his taking the extreme step.

"I was mentally harassed by my wife Poonam, Ravi and Gattu. The trio are responsible for my death," he wrote in his suicide note.

"We have registered a case under section 306 (abetment to suicide) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code. Our investigations are on," the officer added.
