Sunny day in Delhi, rain likely Wednesday


New Delhi, July 1 (IANS): The national capital experienced a sunny, sultry Tuesday with the maximum temperature settling at 35.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average, but the humidity registering a high of 80 percent. Showers are expected in the city Wednesday, the Met office said.

"The sky will remain partly cloudy tomorrow (Wednesday) and some parts of the city may get thundershowers," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Tuesday morning was sunny and the minimum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 28.5 degrees.

The day's maximum humidity settled at 80 percent while the minimum was 63 percent.

Monday's maximum temperature was recorded a notch above the season's average at 37.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was two notches below the season's average at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
