Bharat Biotech donates its product for blast victims

Hyderabad, July 2 (IANS): Bharat Biotech has donated its product worth Rs.7 lakh to aid faster recovery of victims from gas pipeline explosion in Nagaram village of East Godavadri district of Andhra Pradesh.

The contribution in kind was made to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by Suchitra K. Ella, joint managing director of Bharat Biotech.

The blast and fire in GAIL pipeline last Friday killed 19 villagers and injured 19 others.

"Our heartfelt condolences to the family members of all those who lost their lives in the blaze and our prayers are with the injured. We believe this corporate social initiative will complement the efforts by the A.P. government to provide relief to the injured and aid in faster recovery of victims," said Suchitra Ella in a statement.

The product, REGEN-D 60, is an innovative human epidermal growth factor produced by recombinant DNA technology, which aids in accelerated wound healing for first and second degree burns and skin grafts.
