39 injured in two Kashmir road accidents


Srinagar, July 4 (IANS): Thirty-nine people were injured Friday in two road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, police said.

Both the accidents took place at Sumbal in the north Kashmir district.

"Thirty-four people were injured when a bus, bearing registration number JK02C-5491, they were travelling in, overturned at Dangerpora under police station Sumbal. All the injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment," a senior police official said here.

In the second accident, a car bearing registration number PB-BM-4441 on way from Srinagar to Baltal met with an accident at Wangipora, also in Sumbal police station jurisdiction, resulting in injuries to five people. All the injured have been shifted to JVC in Srinagar, the officer said.
