Delhi to popularise its grievance redressal system

New Delhi, July 6 (IANS): The Delhi government will launch a campaign to spread awareness about its new public grievance system that was put in place at the Delhi secretariat this year, an official statement said here Sunday.

The Public Grievance Monitoring System (PGMS) was set up for redressal of complaints received by post, online and at the secretariat itself during public hearing sessions.

"By launching the campaign, more people will become aware about the steps taken by the government to address their grievances," said the statement.

People will be informed that they can lodge their complaints online and also check their status, it said.

Working on paperless mode through PGMS portal, approximately 200 departments of the Delhi government, which are connected through it, are required to upload their response to grievances within a stipulated time.

Brief details of the grievances are entered in the system, scanned and then forwarded to the concerned departments for taking appropriate action in a time-bound manner, it said.
