New Delhi, Jul 8 (Agencies) : Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Amit Shah is likely to be announced as the next party chief in the Parliamentary board meeting, as per news reports on Tuesday.
The announcement is due to take place tomorrow after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly approved Shah's name for the post.
Shah has been given credit for leading the party to thumping victory in Uttar Pradesh in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.
BJP and the allies had won 72 out of 80 seats.
The appointment of Shah as party president will be crucial as Assembly elections are to be held in various states.
