TMC will answer Bengal's Railway Budget humiliation: Mamata

Kolkata, July 9 (IANS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Wednesday asserted her party will give a befitting reply to the NDA government for "depriving" and "humiliating" the state in the railway budget.

"So much of deprivation and humiliation...TMC (Trinamool Congress) will give a befitting reply," Banerjee, the party's chief, told reporters in Burdwan.

TMC and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members clashed in the Lok Sabha over the railway budget Tuesday, leading to repeated adjournments of the house.

Following the adjournment, all TMC members trooped out of the house, alleging physical and verbal attacks from the BJP.

Meanwhile, in Bengal, the ruling party launched state-wide rallies from Tuesday evening to protest the budget as well as the alleged misbehaviour by BJP MPs.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan Wednesday appealed to all parties to ensure their MPs behave in the house.

When quizzed on the speaker's comment, Banerjee said: "I will not comment on the speaker's remark. But this is our democratic right. Bengal has been neglected. We want that those who are elected from Bengal... speak up for the common man whenever they are deprived."
