Mother, baby daughter run over by train near Agra

Agra July 10 (IANS): A 22-year-old pregnant woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed while crossing a rail track near Agra Thursday morning, police said.

The incident happened near Barhan, which is about 20 km from Agra. The mother, Anveshika was crossing the rail track with her daughter Rinki.

Police said the mother and daughter were unaware of the speeding Rajdhani Express train that was approaching. The train sliced them through, while her husband watched helplessly on the other side of the closed gate.

Villagers blocked the road traffic for several hours until police arrived.
