UP launches mobile application for HIV awareness


Lucknow, July 11 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh has launched a phone application for iPhone and android users to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, an official said Friday.

The application giving details about how the disease is contracted and facility centres for check ups can be downloaded from the Uttar Pradesh State Aids Control Society (UPSACS) web site, Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar said.

Launching the application Thursday, Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan said the application is GPS based and would enable one to locate facility centres on the mobile phone.
