Sunny Friday morning in Delhi


New Delhi, July 11 (IANS): It was a sunny Friday morning here with a minimum temperature of 30.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a partly cloudy day.

"The sky will be partly cloudy. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 41 degrees Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m was 53 percent.

On Thursday, the residents of Delhi experienced the hottest day in the last two years with the maximum temperature soaring up to 41.3 degrees Celsius - six notches above the season's average. The sweltering heat pushed the power demand to the highest yet - 5,789 MW.

Thursday's minimum temperature settled at 30 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.
