Mumbai, July 12: Felix A D'Souza, a senior journalist and assistant editor of Poinari Konkani Weekly newspaper which celebrated its golden age with Mumbai as the center passed away at his son's residence in Canada on Wednesday July 9 due to illness.
Hailing from Bendur, Mangalore of Dakshina Kannada district, he has left behind his wife Celine D'Souza, daughter Linette Asha D'Souza
and son Arun D'Souza.
He was the brother of Natarathna and a Kalarathna title holder, famous Konkani drama writer, director and actor Sanny A D'Souza.
The books Matryanche Dan, Vatevoilo Fathor, Painar Vinchlelin Motiyan and Thurufacho Theen Raniyo written by late Felix D'Souza have been published. His articles have been published in Ponari, Rakno, Jhelo, Konkan Daiz, Zag Mag, Khanas, Vishal Konkan, Divo, Kutam, Naman Balok Jezu, Konkani newspapers and magazines and The Examiner and Free Press Journal, English newspapers.
Kalasagar Mumbai organization had honored him with the title of 'Kalavibhooshan.' He was felicitated by Konkani Sangathi Canada and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy. Felix was also an Akashvani artiste and dramatist.
The deceased was staying in Kandarpada near Borivli IC Colony and had gone to Canada recently.
