Five killed in Bengal road accident


Kolkata, July 12 (IANS): Five people, including a woman, were killed and over a dozen injured Saturday when a pickup van they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in West Bengal's Bankura district, police said.

The incident happened in Beliatore in the district, some 175 km from here when the pickup van lost control and rammed into a truck.

"While four people were killed on the spot, a woman later succumbed to her injuries in a hospital. As many as 14 others sustained injuries with a few of them said to be in critical condition," an officer of the Beliatore police station said.
