Mumbai waterlogged after 2 days of rain, lakes not yet full

Mumbai, July 12 (IBN): Following incessant rain in Mumbai, chronic flooding spots like Hindmata, Mahim junction, Kurla west and Chembur have been waterlogged. The BMC disaster management, however, has maintained that the situation is under control.

It has been raining incessantly since the last two days in Mumbai. The lakes though haven't filled up yet. The catchment area of the lakes has hit a 5-year low with the BMC planning to increase the water cut to 30 per cent.

A high tide alert of waves as high as 4.36 metres was sounded on Friday morning. Meanwhile, local trains in the city are running smoothly.
