Fire in Chennai bank


Chennai, July 12 (IANS): A fire broke out in a building housing a State Bank of India branch here Saturday but was brought under control and no one was injured, a fire service personnel said.

Officials said the fire was reported around 3.45 p.m. and fire tenders rushed to the site immediately.

As it was a half-day at the bank, no one was injured though official papers and computers were damaged.

The cause of the fire was not yet clear.
