100 MBBS seats restored in Himachal colleges


Shimla, July 12 (IANS): The Medical Council of India (MCI) has recommended renewal of permission for 100 MBBS seats in both the government medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said here Saturday.

He said the state had vigorously pursued the matter with the central government for restoring the seats in the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla and Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda.

The chief minister said the state has assured the MCI that shortcomings, if any, will be rectified.
