Azharuddin's biopic film shelved?

Daijiworld Media Network - Entertainment

Mumbai, Jul 16: A biopic film on famous cricketer and ex-captain of Indian cricket team Mohammed Azharuddin is being produced by Ekta Kapoor. Ekta Kapoor had bought the rights for the film last year. The film was supposed to be directed by Kunal Deshmukh and star Emraan Hashmi in Azharuddin's role. But now the film has hit a deadlock.

According to the sources close to the film unit, there are many creative differences between script writer Rajat Arora and director Kunal Deshmukh. This has led to the dream project of Ekta Kapoor to be shelved.

Rajat Arora is the most popular script writer of Hindi film industry who is known for his films like 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai' and 'Dirty Picture'. He has also scripted Salman's upcoming release 'Kick'. Kunal Deshmukh is presently busy with his upcoming venture 'Raja Natwarlal' starring Emraan Hashmi.
Ekta Kapoor dismissed the rumours and said the film's script will be locked soon.
