German teacher abducted in Nigeria


Abuja, July 16 (IANS): A German technical teacher was abducted Wednesday in Nigeria's Adamawa state, media reported.

He was on his way to work around 7 a.m. when he was abducted at Anguwan Faransa area of Gombi town, according to the online news portal Premium Times.

The man, whose name was not mentioned due to security reasons, is believed to be the principal of a technical skill acquisition centre in the town.

"The abductors laid siege on his house, and they came on motorcycles. As soon as the man came out and was about to get into his car, two persons on foot approached him and pointed a gun at him," a witness was quoted as saying. 

"They now called two other sets of people on motorcycles who approached them and they carried him away on their motorcycle," the witness said.
