Mumbai, July 16 (IANS): The Mumbai ATS nabbed Abdul Mateen Fakki, an absconding accused allegedly involved in the 2011 triple blasts in Mumbai, informed sources said Wednesday.
Fakki was nabbed from Goa's Dabolim Airport late Tuesday night and brought to Mumbai for investigation, ATS sources revealed.
The 2011 triple blasts of July 13, 2011 evening ripped through congested localities of Dadar, Opera House and Zaveri Bazar - the latter two are gold-diamond jewellery hubs - killing 26 people and injuring another 130.
The sources said Fakki is believed to have financed the operation by passing money through "hawala" sources to the terror outfit Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal.
After interrogation by the ATS sleuths, he is expected to be later produced before a court for remand, the sources added.
