Sultry Saturday in Delhi, rain likely Sunday


New Delhi, July 19 (IANS): It was a sultry Saturday in the national capital, as the maximum temperature was 33.6 degree Celsius, average for the season, but humidity touched a high of 90 percent. The Met office has forecast rain on Sunday.

"The skies will be generally cloudy with rains and thundershowers in some parts of the city," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

Saturday's minimum temperature was recorded a notch below average at 25.4 degrees Celsius, humidity swung between a high of 90 percent and low of 60 percent. 

Friday's maximum temperature was five notches below the season's average at 29.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 24.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
