Bhatkal, Aug 13: The Young Muslim Students Association (YMSA) has organized a Mega Quiz competition in Bhatkal as part of independence Day celebration on August 15, 2006.

Convener Abdur Raqeeb M J said that the quiz event would be a mega event in Bhatkal's history. Questions will be flashed on an overhead projector screen, for the first time ever in Bhatkal taluk.

More than a thousand applications have been received for desirous participants. Only 32 teams, each made of two persons, will be shortlisted through eliminations rounds of written tests held in Rabita hall on August 11. Raqeeb also said that another test will be held on August 13 and the finalists will be announced the same night.

Students of all castes and communities can participate in this event. This will also boost the moral values and spread peace and bring different communities together. The competition will also bring out the talents of the youths, Raqeeb added.

Retired Professor of Nehru College Abdul Kareem and Moulana Khalid Ghazipuri Nadvi will be the chief guests at this event. Other top officials will also be invited as honoree guest.

The first prize would be Rs 10,000 in cash, second Rs 5,000, third Rs 3,000 and the fourth Rs 2,000. Brilliant students of the Nawayat colony area will also be honoured by YMSA with awards and prizes on the occasion.

The programme will commence at 2-30 pm on Tuesday, August 15. The public are cordially invited this programme in large numbers and make it a success.
