Thai king endorses interim charter: Junta chief


Bangkok, July 22 (IANS): Thai military junta chief Prayuth Chan-ocha Tuesday said King Bhumibol Adulyadej has endorsed the interim charter of the country and he expected to receive the endorsed charter later in the day.

The endorsed charter will be received from the king at a royal audience at Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin district of Prachuap Khiri Khan later Tuesday, Xinhua cited the Bangkok Post as quoting Prayuth.

The details of the provisional charter are expected to be revealed Wednesday, and thus pave the way for a national legislative assembly, an interim government and a national reform council, which are set to take shape successively in the coming months.
