Mangalore, Aug 13: The second media education programme for youth of ICYM city deanery, organised as part of the ICYM diamond jubilee celebrations was held at Bondel School Hall on Sunday, Aug 13.

 

An effort to reach media education with special emphasis on educating the youth on computers, internet and e-media, the ICYM Central Committee organised this programme.

The event was inaugurated by Director of ICYM Fr Elias. Parish priest of Permai church and youth director of City deanery Fr Sylvester was the chief guest.

Journalist Raymond Taccode spoke on Media and its importance. He highlighted the elements, uses and impact of media.

The second session which dealt on computers was conducted by Francis D’Souza Pangala, while the final session was on ‘Internet and its Uses’ by Daijiworld Senior Correspondent Viju Mangalore (Vinod Prem Lobo).

Over 50 members of ICYM from around 10 parishes of the City Deanery actively took part in the half-day workshop.

A hands-on experience on using internet, creating e-mail address and job search on internet was the highlight of the event.
