Northeast MPs condemn killing of Manipuri man


New Delhi, July 22 (IANS): The North East MPs Forum (NEMPF) Tuesday condemned the killing of a 29-year-old Manipuri man in the national capital and demanded that recommendations by the Bezbaruah Committee be implemented.

Led by former Lok Sabha speaker P.A. Sangma, the NEMPF is a group of all parliamentarians from the eight northeastern states.

The Bezbaruah Committee was set up to look into the security of the people from the northeast living in various parts of the country.

Manipuri BPO employee Akha Salouni was beaten to death Monday. Police have arrested four people in this connection.
