Puttur, Aug 14: "The state government has been considering all the pros and cons of declaring Kadaba into a new taluk. Odds too are favouring this process. So I believe that government would soon declare Kadaba as taluk," said ZP member Krishna Shetty.
He was speaking at the gram sabha held at Ambedkar Bhavan at Kadaba on Sunday August 13. He was replying to people's question as what do the elected representatives are doing towards formation of Kadaba taluk.
He said that the government, thanks to pressure from elected representatives, has already granted a centre of issuing RTC. "Moreover a deputy tahsildar too will be appointed and a sub registrar's office too is in the pipeline. Applications have been invited for the post of notary. All these developments indicate that we are on a right track. But still more efforts from leaders and representatives of all political parties are expected," he added.
Gram panchayat president Alice Chacko presided over the meeting. However, officials from social welfare and revenue departments did not attend the meeting.
