Press Club Vanamahotsava: 'Will make M'lore a green city'

Mangalore, Jul 25: Mayor Mahabala Maarla planted a sapling in front of Mangalore Press Club as a part of Vanamahotsava, organized by Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists' Association and Mangalore Press Club on Friday July 25.

Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists' Association president P B Harish Rai welcomed the guests and a floral welcome was given to the guests.


Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said, "Under the 'Green Mangalore Project' we and other organizations are planning to make Mangalore a green city. There is sufficient fund and we are going to use it for setting up gardens in and around the city."

He also said that plants were planted in the wrong places at times and the MCC and the forest department were ready to help the people in this regard.

P B Harish Rai compered the programme.

Environment engineer S M Madhu, Mangalore Press Club president Ramakrishna, forest conservator Dr Sanjay, assistant forest conservator Abbas, forest officer J Clifford Lobo and others were also gathered on the occasion.

    Mr Mayor,
    Good decession.
    But by palnting one palnt you cant say you make Mangalore green city.
    mangalore can become green city automatically once we have a proper arrangements for disposing garabage.
    First lets clean that automatically Mangalore will be clean & green.
    Mr. Lobo is trying to do his best ....Coperative with him because our Dsit.incharge is busy in a sleppy mood
