Mangalore, Aug 16: One person was killed after a tempo went off the road and turned turtle at Talapadi near here on Tuesday August 15.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rehman (40), a resident of Talapadi. He was the cleaner in the said tempo. The tempo was coming to the city from Kasargod when it hit one Majid who was walking by the roadside.
As a result, tempo driver lost control over the vehicle and the tempo turned upside down. Abdul, who was inside the tempo sustained critical injuries and died. Pedestrian Majid too sustained serious injuries and is now admitted to a hospital in the city.
It is said that reckless driving by the tempo driver is the reason for the fatal accident. Tempo driver has been absconding.
The Ullal police have registered a case in this regard.
